just one more master to make?
a note on what's next?
Fluorescent Imprints has been a fun adventure in writing about a specific subject- the risograph and how I've related it to different parts of my creative process and academic merit.
5 years ago, when I entered The New School, I didn't even know what a risograph was, or that I would become endlessly fascinated by the risograph printer and its promises. it's been fascinating to see the work that my peers at Parsons make with the risograph, as well as what can be done on a large scale, commercial level at presses like Secret Riso Club and Lucky Risograph.
Alas, for now, fluorescent imprints will be taking a break and will be rebranding and coming back on a different platform with more planning and strategy in place. I still want to know more about the risograph and how it develops in NYC, but perhaps I may also look into how it is spreading across the world. I hear the Art, Design and Media program at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore now has a risograph club, and I could perhaps hit up a few old friends to learn more about that.
But for now, this is goodbye!
